First up, meet Tuija, our Youth & Family Support Worker!
How long have you worked at Multicultural Hub, and what is your role?
I have worked at Multicultural Hub for 6 and a half years, in the role of youth and family support worker.
What do you like about working with young people?
Their resilience, and hearing youth from CALD communities tell me their goals are attainable.
What are some of the things you help young people with?
Advocacy and support for housing issues, Centrelink, and school holiday programs, obtaining 'L' drivers licence.
What do you like about living and working in Canberra?
I like living here because I don't have to commute far, nature is close by and it is close to the coast.
What's something people might not know about you?
Fun fact, I love animals and plants, English is my second language, and I'm a citizen of both Australia and Finland!
